The presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday night while applauding the proposed partnership between the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing and the Lagos State Government to install Vehicle/Truck barriers on the inward and outward sections of Ojuelegba bridge,  sent his condolences to the families of the victims of the unfortunate mishap that occurred at Ojuelegba on Sunday afternoon

His statement read: “I send my deepest condolences to the families of the victims of the terrible tragedy involving a container-laden truck and a commercial bus in Ojuelegba, Lagos State.

“This ugly incident underscores the urgent need to deepen efforts to ensure the safe and responsible movement of people and goods on our highways.

“The proposed partnership between the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing and the Lagos State Government to install Vehicle/Truck barriers on the inward and outward sections of the bridge with the aim of regulating access, particularly to heavy-duty trucks, is a welcome step that must be completed in good time to avert another disaster.

“I pray that the Almighty comforts the bereaved and grants eternal peace to those whose lives were lost.” He prayed.

Recall a 20 feet container had fallen off the Ojuelegba bridge, atop a mini commercial bus, on Sunday killing eight people, children inclusive.
