British popstar Adele was brought to tears after spotting Celine Dion, in the crowd at her concert, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
Adele was in the middle of singing “When We Were Young,” one of the many hits off her third album, “25”, and became emotional as she hug the 6-time Grammy Award-winner sitting near the control board, in a viral video
They both shared an embrace, holding each other’s hands and then sweetly cupping one another’s faces before the Brit tried to continue her performance. After the emotional interaction, Dion could also be seen dabbing her tears, appearing as emotional as Adele.
The “Hello” singer tried to get back to singing but was so overcome with emotion that she asked the audience to help her “Give it up for Miss Céline Dion,” the audience went wild for Dion, who eventually stood up in her seat and waved to the room.
According to CNN, Adele was performing at the exact venue that was built for Dion over two decades ago when she first launched her own Las Vegas residency, ‘A New Day’.
In another clip shared on social media, Adele also acknowledged this during Saturday’s concert.
“It’s only ever been about this room,” Adele said, nodding to the significance of their shared residency venue.
“This is just a full circle moment to me so it’s amazing.”
Celine Dion had stunned her fans in December 2022 when she announced that she’d been diagnosed with Stiff-person syndrome, prompting her removal from the public eye for an extensive amount of time.
In February 2024, she surprised viewers at the Grammy Awards when she came out to present the award for Album of the Year to Taylor Swift.
After Saturday’s performance, Adele only has eight shows left in her “Weekends with Adele” residency. Last month, the singer announced she was going on hiatus and would not see fans “for an incredibly long time.” Her final performance is on November 23.
