It is no longer news that APC in Nasarawa State has successfully conducted its primary elections for various elective positions in the forthcoming Local Government elections scheduled to hold soon.
Reports from different parts of the State indicates that the exercise was generally peaceful and orderly. However, other incidental security and field reports show that the exercise was almost marred in violence due to the interference of some political actors believed to be from outside the APC family.
It was alleged that members of the SDP led by a sitting Senator, Wadada Aliyu Danyaya and his anointed National Commissioner of Refugees, Tijjani Ahmed Aliyu whose appointment was meant to demonstrate APC’s acts of generous goodwill, were engaged in disruptive activities at the Nasarawa, Loko and Ara electoral wards leading to the assault and attack on an APC official.
According to reports, it took the intervention of the State Police Command to rescue the APC official who was roufghly manhandled by thugs of the SDP.
It’s hoped that the police Command would take necessary action against those involved to serve as lesson against future occurrence.
