Atletico Madrid held the lead for 84 minutes before Luka Sucic’s goal got a point for Real Sociedad. Atletico struggled to create chances upfront and had little of the ball, one shot on target and 33% possession. During the post-match interview, Diego Simeone admitted that his side didn’t create enough chances but also praised his side’s defensive ability, he said; We scored a goal, the team worked well defensively, I think we did a pretty good job throughout the entire match because we didn’t allow Real Sociedad create dangerous chances apart from having control of our half. The draw is fair has there were not a lot of scoring chances for both sides, one team wanted to attack , the other defended well and that is what I take from the game. Atletico Madrid have four wins and five draws from their nine league games this season and are without a win in the last three games in all competitions. Los Colchoneros sit third in La Liga and are seven points behind the league leaders Barcelona.
