Sìkìrú Adèpójú, a social media user with the handle @sikiruadepoju, has contrasted some of the views fans of David Adeleke, a popular Nigerian singer known as Davido, have of him.
Adepoju had disagreed when one of the “Omo baba olowo crooner” fans, Nasty Blaq implied that the afrobeat artist get disrespected, Blaq post had read: “The disrespect davido is getting is way too much sha , man just want to help people and that’s all.”
However Adepoju claimed the singer uses his joviality to scam Nigerians and campaign against some of his colleagues due to greed.
He expressed his disbelieve over Davido’s fans reaction of his criticism: “I can’t believe Nigerians still think Davido is an innocent man and an angel in disguise. They feel he has a nice heart and has never done anything wrong, thus he does not deserve any hate or negative energy from anyone.
“Davido has twice scammed Nigerians, demonstrating a disregard for his brand in favour of his pocket. Shoutout to individuals who have had their careers or ambitions silenced as a result of Davido’s greediness and dubious act.
“Davido has used his clown influencers to campaign against his colleagues’ projects. Davido is the most corny and shady person in the Nigerian entertainment industry.”
Recall that in addition to his musical career, the ‘Timeless’ singer has ventured into various personal finance offerings outside the entertainment industry which does not end favorably.
In January of 2021 he endorsed Rachsterli, an investment platform owned by Micheal Chidiebere Oti, by June of same year, it crashed leaving investors without capital or profit.
In June 2021, the entertainer publicly endorsed RapDoge influencing his millions of followers to invest into the token through a now deleted tweet, however the hype was short lived as the meme-coin plummeted.
In November of 2021, he announced the launched of a new social toke, ‘ECHOCKE’, a crypto currency meant to give access to giveaways, NFTs, media and other hospitality benefits, but it didn’t see the light of the day.
In 2024 OBO, announced the launch of a memecoin inspired by himself named ‘Timeless Davido’ ($DAVIDO) which was unveiled on his handle, it allow users to create tokens in a matter of minutes, however, the memecoin lost over 93% of its value the next day.
Adepoju further reacted over the artist and his gang mode of behavior, blaming his manager Asa Asika inability to managed the musician and his gang of friends, criticizing their attitude towards some colleagues in the entertainment industry, categorically stating that Davido enables them to disrespect and still condones their ill manners.
“Should we start discussing the stupid things people around Davido have done? It’s laughable if Asasika believes what he’s stated justifies Davido. When people around you start becoming bitchy, there are two factors to consider:

1. Either they lack respect for you and your craft, or
   “2. You are the enabler of this insult; it is your circle, where you gist, eat, smoke, and draw some lines, so everything they say has been premeditated or already discussed. You don’t overly caution them, which means it always sits well with you.
   Asasika has done terrible job managing Davido , have got love for the plug and all her executives but let’s call a spade a spade … they are too naked in that video with wasiu video hence they won’t release it” speaking about a video where the singer was allegedly hitting one of his gangs, that was said to be staged.
