Barcelona secured an emphatic 4-1 victory over Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League, driven by a stunning performance from Raphinha, securing six points from three matches.

From the opening minute, Barcelona applied pressure, with Raphinha bypassing Manuel Neuer early on. Bayern thought they had equalized when Harry Kane found the back of the net, but his effort was ruled offside after a VAR check. Kane eventually got his goal, converting a cross from Serge Gnabry to make it 1-1.

However, Barcelona regained the lead in the 36th minute through Robert Lewandowski, who scored his first goal against his former club, assisted by Fermin López—his second assist of the night. Raphinha continued to torment Bayern, netting Barcelona’s third with a clinical finish using his weaker foot, before completing his hat-trick in the 56th minute following a Lamine Yamal assist.

Bayern’s coach, Vincent Kompany, made several substitutions, bringing on Leroy Sané, Jamal Musiala, Kingsley Coman, and Leon Goretzka in an attempt to change the game, but the impact was minimal. Meanwhile, Barcelona introduced Frenkie de Jong, Ansu Fati, Pau Víctor, Gavi, and Dani Olmo, who all contributed to closing out the match, showcasing the depth in Xavi’s squad.

The result leaves Bayern Munich with just three points from three games, having conceded seven goals. In contrast, Barcelona celebrated back-to-back Champions League wins, with ten goals scored and three conceded across their last two matches. This victory also ended a run of six consecutive defeats against Bayern, marking their first win over the German giants since 2015.

Raphinha’s hat-trick also made him only the fourth player in UEFA Champions League history to score three goals against Bayern Munich in a single game.
