TEN DEAD, SEVEN INJURED AS BUILDING COLLAPSED IN IBADAN

Ten people have been reported dead while seven sustained varying degrees of injury after a building collapsed on them, on Thursday in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The state Fire Service Agency confirmed in a press statement that the incident happened at 2 am in Jegeda, Oluloyo area, Ibadan in Ona Ara Local Government Area of the state.
The statement read: “The Oyo State Fire Services Agency received a distressed call at around 2 am this morning at Jegede Olunloyo area, Ibadan, of which 10 persons have been recovered from the debris of the collapsed building, while seven persons were rescued alive. Rescue operation is still going on.”
According to the General Manager, Yemi Akinyinka: “We received a distress call from the people in the neighborhood at 2 am. When we got to the scene of the incident, ten people died out rightly while three people had recovered before we got to the place.
“Our men recovered four but they are still working in the rescue operation is still going on.”
