The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Hakan Fidan on Thursday has pledged to continue with the humanitarian services to Lebanon with the country’s presidential backing.
“Upon the instructions of our President, Mr. @RTErdogan, our ships that safely evacuated our citizens in Lebanon and brought humanitarian aid to the brotherly Lebanese people left Beirut and set off for Mersin.
“Our country will continue to extend a helping hand to the peoples of the region in the face of the humanitarian crisis created by the war Israel has spread by Israel in the region and to take every step to protect the life and property of its citizens abroad.” Fidan posted
He added that Ankara would continue to take all necessary steps to protect its citizens abroad.
Turkish naval vessels have successfully evacuated the country’s nationals from Lebanon, Fidan noted, adding that the ships had also delivered aid to the “brotherly Lebanese people” before departing for Türkiye’s southern port of Mersin.
