FEDERAL GOVERNMENT GRANT PARDON TO DETAINED MINORS, KANO STATE GOVERNMENT PROMISES REHABILITATION

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf on Tuesday disclosed that he was not aware of the minors’ arrest until they were arraigned in the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court.
He made this known at the Muhammadu Buhari Special Hospital, where a team of medical professionals were designated to assess the physical and mental health of the 76 released minors.
The Endbadgovernance protesters arrived via a Max aircraft at Malam Aminu International Airport around 9:57 pm.
Upon their arrival, Governor Yusuf was joined by several key state officials, including Deputy Governor Abdul Salam Gwarzo, Speaker of the State Assembly Alhaji Isma’ila Falgore, and other prominent figures from the state government and political circles.
”On learning of the matter, I promptly directed the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice to take charge of the case,” he said.
The minors’ release came on Tuesday, following a directive from President Bola Tinubu, who ordered their freedom. Mr Yusuf thanked President Bola Tinubu and acknowledged his compassionate gesture towards the children.
“I also commend the parents for their fervent prayers and demonstrated maturity throughout this challenging period, both during and after the release of the affected minors. Their composure and resilience are truly admirable,” he acknowledged
The governor assured that his administration would do everything possible to reunite the children with their parents and promised to ensure they are enrolled back into the school system, stating that their action should not jeopardized their future.
”I will ensure that these children get a second chance at a normal life by enrolling them in local schools and providing opportunities for rehabilitation and personal growth.
”This thoughtful approach acknowledges that their actions, although regrettable, shouldn’t define their future,” he said.
