Inter Milan and Napoli shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw, with both teams walking away with a point. Inter dominated the first half, maintaining control of possession, but it was Napoli who struck first. A swift counterattack in the 23rd minute saw Amir Rrahmani play a clever pass to Scott McTominay, who converted to give the visitors the lead.
Inter responded by increasing their pressure, and they found the equalizer when Hakan Calhanoglu unleashed a stunning strike from outside the box—a contender for Goal of the Season. The Turkish national team captain’s goal was a reward for Inter’s persistent control of the game.
The hosts continued to press in the second half, creating several opportunities. Their best chance came in the 72nd minute when Zambo Anguissa fouled Denzel Dumfries in the box, awarding Inter a penalty. Calhanoglu stepped up to take it but was denied by the post, keeping the score level.
At full time, Inter’s manager Simone Inzaghi expressed satisfaction with his team’s efforts, saying, “We went behind on a set play situation where we should’ve done better, but we kept our heads and did not allow Napoli practically anything. We hit the woodwork twice, missed a penalty, so I don’t know what more we could’ve done.”
The result leaves Inter in fourth place, one point behind leaders Napoli. They are level on points with Atalanta (2nd ), Fiorentina (3rd), and Lazio (5th), with goal difference separating the top five sides.
