KANO HOUSE OF REP. MEMBER FACES CRITICISM OVER DISPLAY OF CASH, NIGERIANS DEMAND EFCC QUESTION THE SOURCE AND ITS PURPOSE

A member of the House of Representatives from Kano State, Aliyu Sani Madaki, has come under criticism after a video surfaced online showing him with stacks of cash running into millions of Naira, in his living room.

The footage, which went viral, shows Madaki, who represents Dala federal constituency on the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), sorting wads of N1,000 Naira notes stacked in a pile alongside two other unknown individuals.

The display of such large quantity of cash caused disapproval among netizens given the current economic hardship that bedeviled the nation, as many took to social media to express anger, describing the lawmaker’s action as insensitive to Nigerians’ struggle and plight.

Madaki access to such large cash has been questioned why some people advocate that the country’s Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) should invite the Hon. for questioning while demanding answers regarding the source of the funds and purpose it’s intended for.
