Cristiano Ronaldo, the legendary forward known for his time with Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus received the Platinum Quinas award from the Portuguese Football Federation at the Quinas de Ouro gala held on November 11, 2024.
The award, presented by the Portuguese Football Federation, recognizes Ronaldo’s extraordinary achievements with the national team, including a record-breaking 216 caps.
The Al Nassr star was honored with this ambassadorial award in celebration of his contributions to Portuguese football. His storied national team career includes reaching the final of the 2004 UEFA European Championship, where Portugal ultimately lost to Greece, as well as helping Portugal win the 2016 Euros. Ronaldo remains the last active player from Portugal’s 2016 championship squad.
Upon receiving the award, Ronaldo expressed his gratitude, saying, “It is an honor to receive this trophy. I see it as a beginning. Thank you to the FPF for this award, marking a long journey filled with hard work.
“At 18, my dream was to earn my first cap. Then I aimed for 25, 50, and why not 100? A round number, three digits, and then I started thinking about 150, 200, and it’s a tremendous feeling.” He added
The football icon also shared his joy on Instagram, stating, “It is an honor to receive this award for my national team career. There is still a lot to conquer! Thank you.”
