AFCON 2013 Winner Brown Ideye joins Nigerian Giants Eyimba.

Former Nigerian international Brown Ideye has joined Nigerian football giants Enyimba until the end of the season. Ideye had been without a club since leaving Kuwaiti side Al Yarmouk in 2022.

Ideye will join ex-Nigerian internationals Ahmed Musa and Abdullahi Shehu, who play for Kano Pillars, in the NPFL. This move is expected to increase the marketing of the league and bring in revenue.

The NPFL is not unfamiliar for Ideye, as he started his career with Ocean Boys before moving to Switzerland to join Neuchâtel Xamax FCS. Brown Ideye was part of Nigeria’s golden generation that won the 2013 African Cup of Nations.

Ideye is a well-traveled player, having played for ten clubs outside of Africa across Europe and Asia, including the Premier League and LaLiga, where he played for West Bromwich Albion and Málaga. Ideye will be hoping to use his influence and experience to motivate the Enyimba players positively as they aim to win the NPFL for the 10th time and compete for the CAF Confederations Cup.
