Al Nassr suffered a 2-1 loss in the highly anticipated Saudi Pro League clash against Al-Ittihad. The goals began to flow in the second half, with veteran Karim Benzema giving his side the lead in the 55th minute. Muhannad Al Shanqiti’s cross from the right met Benzema, who put the ball past Al Nassr’s goalkeeper, Bento.
Two minutes later, football icon Cristiano Ronaldo equalized for Al Nassr, taking his tally to 50 goals in 2024. However, Dutch international Steven Bergwijn eventually stole all three points for Al-Ittihad, breaking Al Nassr’s hearts. He drove into the box from the left side and played a curved shot that beat Bento from the right-hand side.
Despite the loss, Ronaldo’s effort didn’t go unnoticed, as he was applauded by the Al-Ittihad fans for his wonderful performance. Al-Ittihad extended their lead at the top to five points. Meanwhile, Al Nassr dropped to fourth in the Saudi Pro League, 11 points behind Al-Ittihad.
