Gabriel Jesus put Arsenal ahead as early as the 6th minute. However, Arsenal’s lead lasted only five minutes as Ismaïla Sarr leveled for Crystal Palace.
Jesus restored Arsenal’s advantage in the 15th minute, marking his fifth goal of the week after managing just one all season prior.
Arsenal suffered a setback in the 24th minute when Bukayo Saka was forced off due to injury.
Gabriel almost made it three in the 37th minute when his header struck the post following a well-delivered cross from captain Martin Ødegaard.
Kai Havertz extended Arsenal’s lead with a simple tap-in after Jesus hit the woodwork.
Sarr nearly halved the deficit for Crystal Palace with a diving header, but David Raya’s quick reflexes denied the Senegalese international.
Raya was called into action again in the 53rd minute, making a stunning double save—first denying Jean-Philippe Mateta’s long-range shot and then stopping Sarr’s follow-up header.
Gabriel Martinelli put the game beyond doubt, deflecting Declan Rice’s shot into the net to make it 4-1.
Rice sealed the victory with a spectacular strike from outside the box, beating Dean Henderson to complete the rout.
It was the third time this season Arsenal scored five goals in a single match.
