Barcelona get back to winning ways in Laliga with a commanding 5-1 win over Mallorca. The first half ended level after a competitive start.
Ferran Torres gave Barça the lead in the 12th minute. Lamine Yamal had the chance to double the advantage six minutes later, but he was denied by Leo Román Riquelme. Mallorca drew level two minutes before halftime through Vedat Muriqi. It was the 30-year-old’s third goal of the season.
Barça were totally dominant in the second half, making Román take the ball out of his net four times.
The breakthrough came after Yamal was brought down in the box by Johan Mojica in the 56th minute. The referee awarded a penalty, and Raphinha put the ball in the back of the net. Eighteen minutes later, Raphinha made it a brace for himself and a third for Barça, with Yamal involved in the build-up, providing a clever assist.
There was still time for more as Frenkie de Jong made it 4-1 in the 79th minute after the Mallorca defense failed to clear their lines properly.
Pau Víctor completed the rout, scoring the fifth goal after receiving a nice pass from De Jong, which the Spaniard slotted home.
Barcelona restored their lead at the top of the table to four points, though they have played two more games than Real Madrid. Meanwhile, Mallorca remain in the UEFA Europa League places but have played a game more than the teams around them.
