Liverpool beat Leicester 3-1 to move 7 points clear at the summit of the Premier League table

Liverpool defeated Leicester City 3-1 to extend their unbeaten run to 22 games.

Leicester took the lead in the 6th minute through Jordan Ayew, with the Ghanaian scoring his first goal against Liverpool after 14 attempts.

A stunning strike from Cody Gakpo brought Liverpool level in first-half stoppage time.

Curtis Jones handed Liverpool the lead immediately after the restart.

Mohamed Salah sealed all three points in the 82nd minute, with Gakpo involved again, this time providing the assist.

Salah now boasts 34 goal contributions in 25 games for Liverpool this season.

The Reds are now 7 points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

However, it is looking shallow for Leicester City as they remain in the relegation zone, just a point away from safety. The Leicester City owners must back head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy in the January transfer window if he is to keep them in the Premier League.
