Manchester United trashed Everton 4-0 in Rúben Amorim’s first home game in charge of Manchester United in the Premier League. Manchester United started the game slowly, but Rashford’s 34th-minute goal, which came at the edge of the box through a Bruno Fernandes corner, saw momentum shift to Manchester United.
The Red Devils doubled their advantage after 7 minutes through Joshua Zirkzee, with Bruno Fernandes providing the assist again. Manchester United continued their dominance immediately after the start of the 2nd half, as Marcus Rashford made it three for Manchester United.
The English international is excelling under the new manager Rúben Amorim, scoring three goals since he took charge. Joshua Zirkzee wrapped up all three points for Manchester United in the 64th minute, sealing up a dominant display.
The result meant Manchester United are up to 9th in the Premier League with 19 points. The result was Manchester United’s biggest result since August 2021.
After the game, Rashford praised his side’s effort and emphasized his teammates to keep learning. “It is a nice result. It is important with a new coach and a new play of playing, when we are still learning. We have to back up this performance and win in midweek.”
Rúben Amorim acknowledged the impressive result but emphasized the need for further improvement. “The result was good, but we were pragmatic. It wasn’t pretty, but we got the job done, which is to win. You can sense we have a long way to go—especially in the first few minutes when Everton controlled the game. The goals came at the right moments and shifted the momentum in our favor. However, you can’t just focus on the result; you have to analyze how we achieved it. There’s much to work on, but it’s always easier to improve with victories,” Amorim remarked.
