OSUN GOVERNOR SLAMS SAHARA REPORTERS FOR PANDERING FAKE NEWS

The governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke on Thursday slammed Sahara Reporters news outlet for pandering fake news about the state.
The media outlet had written a story on “Document Shows Osun State Loan under Governor A. Adeleke Rises to N10.5billion in 19 Months,” which the governor had qualified as ‘shoddy journalism’, while he refers readers to the news report dismissing the allegations months back.
The governor while denying obtaining a purported loan alluded that he was forced to reply Sahara Reporters so that his followers won’t be misinformed
Ademola’s post to the media outlet owned by politician and activist, Sowere Omoyele; “I’m not sure if this report is the result of shoddy journalism or a political hatchet job you’ve been commissioned to execute.
“However, since some of the good people I serve in Osun State might be following your platform, I find it necessary to respond to your false accusations.
“You can read our detailed response to those that were commissioned before you to spread this falsehood a few months ago.”
Recall that in February, the Osun State Government denied obtaining a Ten Billion Naira loan facility in 2023, as against the allegation that circulated on the social media.
The Commissioner for Information, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi had disclosed that the current indebtedness of the state were contracted by previous governments of the All Progressive Congress.
According to the Commissioner, the current government has been servicing inherited debt and stating that Governor Adeleke adopted a no-loan policy which he has maintained since assuming office.
