Real Madrid and Rayo Vallecano shared the spoils in a thrilling six-goal match. Rayo Vallecano took the lead just four minutes into the game through Unai López. They doubled their advantage in the 36th minute through Abdul Mumin.

Arda Guler thought he had put Real Madrid ahead six minutes into the second half, but his goal was ruled out for offside. Rodrygo finally put Real Madrid ahead for the first time in the game in the 56th minute, with a thunderbolt shot from outside the box that took a deflection and went past Augusto Batalla.

Rayo Vallecano was determined not to leave without a point and equalized through their skipper, Isi Palazón, in the 64th minute. Real Madrid felt they should have been awarded a penalty in the 75th minute after Vini Jr. Was brought down in the box by Mumin, but the referee, Martínez Munuera, didn’t award a penalty.

Vinicius almost won the game for Real Madrid, going past two Rayo Vallecano defenders and firing a powerful shot, but Batalla denied his effort.

After the game, Real Madrid’s coach, Carlo Ancelotti, claimed his side should have been awarded a penalty. “There was a clear penalty on Vinicius. That was obvious and quite clear,” he said. He also praised his side’s performance, stating they performed well. “We’re on the right track, and I’m satisfied. We competed well tonight.”

Ancelotti added, “Tonight’s draw is not as bad as the one against Las Palmas or Mallorca. This one was better.”

The result meant Real Madrid dropped points for the sixth time in La Liga this season, missing the chance to go above Barcelona.
