Enyimba’s Exit Seals Nigeria’s CAF Confederation Cup Knockout Stage Absence

Enyimba’s campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup ended in disappointment as the Nigerian giants were eliminated following a 3-1 defeat to Zamalek in their final group-stage match.

Zamalek took the lead in the 29th minute through Mustafa Shalaby, who finished a well-crafted move to put the Egyptian side ahead. Shortly after the restart, Seifeddine Jaziri doubled the advantage in the 48th minute, leaving Enyimba with a difficult task.

The Nigerian side found a glimmer of hope in the 57th minute when Ifeanyi Ihemekwele scored to reduce the deficit. However, Jaziri struck again in stoppage time to seal the victory for Zamalek and crush Enyimba’s hopes of advancing to the knockout stages.

Zamalek topped Group D with 14 points, securing their qualification comfortably. Al Masry joined them in the knockout stages after finishing second with 9 points. Enyimba managed only five points, placing third, while Black Bulls ended their campaign at the bottom of the group with four points.
