“I Get Money For Feeding From My House Rent In Kaduna” — Buhari

The former President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has disclosed in a statement that he now depends on the rent he gets from letting out his house at Kaduna to feed.

Buhari made this statement while addressing a gathering of the All-Progressive Congress (APC) caucus in Katsina State on Sunday, ahead of the state’s local council election scheduled for February 15.

He opined that most Nigerians are ignorant of the difficulty he faced during his administration and the complexities of leadership in the country, hence they blame government over the country’s woes.

“Nigeria is a difficult country to govern, but most Nigerians are unaware. You will not understand the complexities of leadership and the country itself until you find yourself in the administrative position of the country.”

The former president who spoke in Hausa language disclosed the number of houses he has, while he emphasized on transparency and accountability “After my eight years as a civil president, I have only three houses; one in Daura and two in Kaduna. I have given one out for renting where I get money for feeding.”

“I refrained from enriching myself illicitly during my presidency,” he said, adding that he is committed to the principles of integrity and accountability.

He was in office from 2015- 2023, he handed over power to Bola Ahmed Tinubu in May
