Kano State Governor Worries about Delivering Dividends of Democracy Ahead Of 2027 Election

The Governor of Kano state, Alhaji Abba Yusuf while speaking during the monthly women empowerment programme disclosed his concern about delivering dividends of democracy to the people that voted him into office as against the urgency to be reelected in 2027.
He stated this on Wednesday while speaking with the women, reiterating that there is no need to submit to pressure as God has destined him to be a governor and can’t do anything outside His will
Yusuf stated: “What I am worried about is not re-election. I am more concerned about delivering the dividends of democracy on the mandate given to me in this first tenure. I want the good people of Kano to judge me by my performance at the end of this tenure.
“We know those people, who were massively rejected in both 2019 and 2023. We won against them at a time when we had no political office—not even a Councillorship seat. But Allah made it possible for us to win with a landslide victory.”
The governor as well cautioned against hate speeches and generalizations, stating that inciting utterances have the potential to scare unsuspecting voters, who are eager to exercise their civic rights.
He warned of enemies who identified as opposition members that may want to cause rift in the state, while assuring them that the effectiveness of his performance will speak for his second term.
