In a video that has generated mixed reaction on social media, the Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture , Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka was seen assaulting a yet to be identified man who was videoing her as a public servant.
The Commissioner was seen asking the unkwown man to leave the premises but the unidentified man responded that no one will leave the venue.

Mrs. Benson-Awoyinka got up from her seat, speaking in Yoruba language saying ‘Maa fo phone owo e’ (I will smash the phone he is recording with’).

An unidentified man was heard shouting ‘How dare you slap him?’

However this scenario has generated mixed reactions from netizens as it seen that the commissioner is a public servant and can be recorded by anyone at any time because she is accountable to the people.
Skit maker, Content creator and actor, Adebowale Adedayo known as Mr. Macaronii among others in a post berated the commissioner for her utterances.
Mr. Macaronii’s post read: “Dear Mrs Toke Benson, who do you think you are that you can’t be recorded?? Ok. Commissioner? And so what??
“You even have the temerity to ask “who is paying your salary” Is it your money? A public servant moving like a Dictator. Saying you will break a citizen’s phone and actually moving to do so?? Outrageous!!!
“And I heard another lady asking “do you know who you are talking to” Who are you? Who is she? Who are all of you gangan??? My goodness!!!
“It seems once you hold a political office in Nigeria you become Lord and Master and all Citizens must become your slaves??” the content creator criticized.
@fwbade: “Good to know she knows she’s paying the security’s salary, I hope she’s also aware her own salary is being paid from the person she was about to break his phone’s tax. They hold positions without knowledge, yet she poses as a legal practitioner.”

This is coming after a school teacher was seen in a video assaulting a toddler on Wednesday, in a school vicinity.
