Norwegian Legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Appointed Besiktas Manager on an 18-Month Contract

Manchester United and Norwegian legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been appointed as the new manager of Besiktas on an 18-month contract.

This is the Norwegian’s first managerial role since 2021. Expectations are high among Besiktas fans, who believe Solskjaer is the right man to guide the club back to its glory days.

Besiktas have struggled in the Turkish Süper Lig this season and are currently sixth on the table. The club has been without a permanent head coach since the sacking of Dutch tactician Giovanni van Bronckhorst in November.

The club expressed their excitement over Solskjaer’s appointment and shared their confidence in his ability to lead the team to success. “We believe Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will make significant contributions to our club, and we warmly welcome him to the Besiktas family, wishing him great success”.

Solskjaer faces a challenging debut, with his first game in charge being a must-win against Spanish side Athletic Bilbao. Besiktas are currently 28th in the standings, just one point off the play-off positions.
