Palmpay Customer Cries Out For Help, Fintech Bank Refuses Him Access to His Account

Idris Abdulrahman narrated his current ordeal with fintech bank as Palmpay refuses to gain him access to his account.
Dear NIGERIANS, I need your Help. @palmpay_ng has mentally killed me. They SUSPENDED my bank account and asked me to visit @FIUNigeria office in Abuja if I really want my account opened. I just returned from Abuja after travelling a long distance and what I met there SHOCKED Me.
“On 2nd of December, 2024, around evening, I tried making a transfer from my Palmpay Account with the Registered number 8156932022 and I was told ‘payer’s account has issue, contact customer care on xyz to resolve.”
“Then, The money in my account was about 95,000. Someone kept the money in my account – it’s her school fee. Well, I thought it was network fluctuations. I took a chill pill and after hours, same happened so I decided to reach out to Customer Care.
“I chatted the Human Agent. I have recordings of how their Customer Care call agents keep playing music for me after picking, wasting my airtime countlessly only to redirect me to emails they won’t respond to EXCEPT after 48hrs. Sometimes, they even respond to mails on weekends alone.
“After doing this and sending it to them, Palmpay delayed me and also requested that I should snap a selfie holding my NIN. I immediately did this. And Palmpay promised to escalate it for solution.
“Hours, days, weeks, now MONTHS later, Palmpay is yet to OPEN MY account Unfortunately, currently, the money in the account is about N250,000.
“The person who kept her school fees with me still sent another part of the school fee into the account and some of my POS customers often send money into the account before even seeing me, when they meet me they get their money upon confirmation.
“While Palmpay held my money, I kept mailing them as instructed by one of their Human Agent in their app. It took over 2-7 working days before they respond to their mails and when they eventually did, they asked me. To send Authorization I rinsed and repeated what I earlier did via the app in the email.
“Normally, what should follow is Palmpay sorting the issue with my account. Unfortunately, they didn’t rather, they asked me to visit NFIU office to resolve it I quickly googled their address to see if they’re located in my state of residence, they don’t.
“I made findings and one of my old course mates who works with a NORMAL commercial bank, she advised me to contact CBN branch in my state of residence The following day, I was at CBN branch in Lokoja. Explained my plight and, to summarize all that happened. There, they said I should visit NFIU because PALMPAY told me NFIU asked them to suspend my account.
“Palmpay claimed only NFIU can order them to UNSUSPEND my account. I in informed Palmpay of my visitation. To the CBN and told them what one of the CBN staff told me. They said they just need a MESSAGE From NFIU office asking them to lift the suspension.
“As I type this, I am standing right before the NFIU office in Abuja, I will be going in to request them to ORDER the suspension on my account lifted by Palmpay. I am putting this here because:
“1. Since the issue began. I borrowed money from some VERY GOOD FRIENDS, Relation to clear the school fee of someone that was in my account. They need to be aware of the entire process.
“2. NFIU Has a semblance with the EFCC, I just hope I am NOT wrongly suspected because anything connected to FINANCIAL crime has NEVER AND will NEVER BE TRACED TO MY Name or personality. I fear my safety MOSTLY because I’ve seen, read and witnessed injustice false accusations in this dear country of mine.
“3. I am in debts that all need to be sorted before 31st of January. I will update you all once I’m out of this place. “
