Sergio Conceição Calms the Storm in Milan with Italian Super Cup Triumph

Sergio Conceição secured his first trophy as AC Milan’s manager barely a week after taking charge of the club. Goals from Lautaro Martínez and Mehdi Taremi had given Inter Milan a two-goal lead, but AC Milan staged a remarkable comeback to win the Italian Super Cup, thanks to Rafael Leão’s performance.

The Portuguese played a fantastic role in all three goals scored by Theo Hernández, Christian Pulisic, and Tammy Abraham.

It marked the eighth time in history that the Rossoneri claimed the Italian Super Cup.

Sergio Conceição praised his players’ determination, stating:
“I am very happy for the players because it was not easy. The atmosphere wasn’t the best when I arrived, and there wasn’t much time to work on the details before these two games. We were up against two top-level sides.”

He also expressed optimism about the team’s potential for the season:
“The players were magical; they absorbed everything we discussed. Clearly, there are things we need to improve, but they are aware of that. I feel that with humility, we can achieve great things in the Champions League, Serie A, and take Milan where it deserves to be.”

AC Milan focus their attention on the league and the Champions League hoping to give a good account of themselves.
