Sevilla in Advanced Talks to Sign Nigerian Striker Akor Adams

Sevilla is reportedly closing in on a permanent deal for Nigerian striker Akor Adams from Montpellier, with negotiations in advanced stages. The deal is worth around £5m.

Sevilla currently occupies 12th place in La Liga this season and is desperate for attacking options, lacking firepower in front of goal. Their highest goal scorer Dodi Lukebakio has only nine goals in 20 appearances in the league this season, followed by Isaac Romero with only two goals from 17 matches.

The Sevilla board believes Adams could be the attacking puzzle they need to climb up the table. Although the 24-year-old’s goal-scoring return hasn’t been impressive, with only three goals in 15 matches. This could be as a result of his team’s, Montpellier struggles this season as they find it difficult to create chances . Montpellier finds itself at the bottom of the Ligue 1 standings with only 18 goals.
