The World Cup winner had been without a club since the summer of 2024, following the expiration of his contract with Sevilla.

Ramos has signed a one-year contract with Monterrey and will wear the number 93 shirt in honor of his iconic goal for Real Madrid in the 2014 Champions League final.

Real Madrid acknowledged Ramos’ gesture on their official X handle and wished him well in Monterrey:

Monterrey currently sits 10^th in the Mexican top flight and is managed by former Bayern Munich defender Martín Demichelis.
