Jamal Musiala has signed a new contract at FC Bayern until 2030.
According to reports from Tobi Altschäffl, the contract details include a five-year extension until 2030, an annual gross salary of €25 million, a signing fee (lower than Alphonso Davies’ €22 million), a release clause valid in the summer of 2028 worth €175 million, and a release clause of €100 million valid in the summer of 2029.
Bayern Munich’s director of sport, Max Eberl, expressed his joy at Musiala signing a new contract, calling the player a difference-maker: “Top clubs across the world look for players who can make the difference, and Jamal Musiala stands out there. He’s shaping the present at Bayern and will also shape the future, is the face of our new generation. In Jamal, we’ve managed to convince one of the most coveted players in the world of our long-term plan at Bayern. Players like him allow us to send out a clear message to everyone that Bayern are to be reckoned with in the future as well.”
Musiala also expressed his delight, stating that he has made the right choice to stay at Bayern: “It took time, but I’m extremely happy that it’s done. Now, for me, it’s about taking steps forward year by year, achieving a lot with the team, and continuing to grow together. The last four to five years here have been really nice. I feel really good here with the team, the coaching staff, and also the fans. I’m looking forward to the coming years, where we will hopefully be able to achieve a lot.”
He also emphasized the need to bring silverware back to Bayern: “We want to win the Champions League and the league. We have big games in the coming weeks that, for now, we should focus on. But we all have big goals, including myself.”
Musiala joined Bayern’s academy from Chelsea in July 2019. He spent only a few months at the academy before making his first-team debut on June 20, 2020, against SC Freiburg in the Bundesliga, making him the club’s youngest-ever player in the competition at 17 years and 115 days old.
Since then, Musiala has gone on to win nine trophies with Bayern Munich, including the UEFA Champions League.
