Fiorentina striker Moise Kean collapsed on the pitch on Sunday, February 23, due to a head injury during the club’s Serie A clash against Hellas Verona.
The 24-year-old’s face collided with Pawel Dawidowicz’s knee as he fell while trying to win the ball in the 58th minute. The impact didn’t seem serious at the time, as he continued playing after receiving treatment. However, in the 64th minute, he suddenly collapsed on the pitch. Players quickly alerted the medical staff, and fortunately, Kean responded to treatment and remained conscious. He was stretchered off the field with a neck brace, and the club immediately announced on its official X handle that he had been taken to the hospital.
“ACF Fiorentina announces that player Moise Kean suffered a head trauma during the match against Verona. The player is currently hospitalized for further testing.”
There was positive news in the early hours of Monday, February 24, as Fiorentina confirmed on its official X handle that Kean had been discharged from the hospital.
“ACF Fiorentina announces that Moise Kean was discharged from the hospital in Verona overnight and has returned to Florence. All clinical and diagnostic tests performed were negative.”
Kean has been one of Fiorentina’s standout players this season, scoring 19 goals in all competitions.
It remains unclear if he will be available for Fiorentina’s next league match against Lecce on February 28.
