Kenya Airways Stranded Nigerian Passenger Back In Her Country

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) Consumer Protection’s Director, Michael Achimugu reported that the stranded Miss Gloria Ibukun Omisore who was allegedly ill-treated by the Kenya Airways in Nairobi arrived Lagos.

Omisore was traveling from Lagos to Nairobi, Paris, and Manchester. On arrival in Nairobi for her connecting flight (Nairobi-Paris), it was discovered that she did not have a Schengen Visa and had demanded for accommodation, food and sanitary when she got to Nairobi for a 17 hour layover but was denied boarding due to her visa requirement.

The Nigerian lady accused Kenya Airways of favoritism in her video stating that once the Airways sighted the green international passport, then they start maltreating their fellow blacks as opposed their white counterparts.

Achimugu had in a post threatened consequences if the stranded passenger was not airlifted, arguing that it will treat Nigerians better in 2025:

“Kenya Airways, if Ms Gloria Ibukun Omisore is not airlifted safely to her final destination within a couple of hours, there will be ramifications. There are limits that must not be crossed and, in 2025, you will treat Nigerian passengers better.” He posted.

However the Kenya Airways corporate communication in a statement revealed that there are pertinent information that Omisore did not include in the video, exposing that she had hurled three used sanitary pad at its agent and won’t condone such.

The Corporate Communication condemned her action whileexpecting “all interactions to be based on mutual respect. Our employees deserve to work in a safe and dignified environment, and we do not tolerate any abuse from our employees or guests. “

NCAA Consumer Protection Director posted a video that Omisore is back on her soil and will meet with Kenya Airways tomorrow for a meeting:

“Glad to inform that the passenger has safely arrived in Lagos, Nigeria. I had our NCAA Consumer Protection Officers receive her on arrival. The meeting with @KenyaAirways tomorrow will lead to a determination on this case. A stranded Nigerian passenger is safely home. We remain committed to protecting the rights of all stakeholders”
