Robin van Persie Nearing Feyenoord Head Coach Role

Reports from David Ornstein suggest that Feyenoord is close to appointing Manchester United and Arsenal legend Robin van Persie as the men’s first-team head coach.

He is expected to replace Brian Priske, who was sacked on February 10 due to a poor run of results. Pascal Bosschaart was named interim manager, but the team’s struggles have continued. Feyenoord currently sits fourth in the league, a position below their usual standards.

Van Persie is currently the manager of Heerenveen, who are ninth in the league despite operating on a tight budget.

The Dutchman is no stranger to Feyenoord fans, having represented the club 122 times and contributed to 62 goals during his time there. He was also part of the squad that won the 2002 UEFA Cup, now known as the UEFA Europa League.
