With the FIFA World Cup qualifiers fast approaching, new Super Eagles manager Eric Chelle has taken significant steps to familiarize himself with his players. Nigeria is set to face Rwanda on March 17 and Zimbabwe on March 24.

Chelle, accompanied by his assistant Hedi Taboubi, has embarked on a European tour to meet several Super Eagles players. He has already held discussions with Moses Simon, Alex Iwobi, and Wilfred Ndidi.

His tour began in France, where he met with Nantes winger Moses Simon, before traveling to England to visit Fulham’s Alex Iwobi and Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi.

The Super Eagles officially announced the coach’s tour on their X handle, stating:

“Head coach Éric Chelle and first assistant Hedi Taboubi visited some Super Eagles players ahead of the crucial FIFA World Cup qualifiers. 🇳🇬🦅 #RoadToWorldCup2026 #SoarSuperEagles”

Nigeria currently sits second from the bottom in their qualifying group, four points away from the automatic qualification spots. They will need to win all their remaining matches to boost their chances of making it to the World Cup.
