The dates for the Super Eagles’ fixtures for AFCON 2025 have been officially unveiled by CAF. Nigeria will take on Tanzania first, followed by their second test against Tunisia, and then play Uganda in their final group game.
The trickiest opponent is expected to be Tunisia, as they boast a higher FIFA and CAF football ranking than the other two. The last time Nigeria faced Tunisia was in the AFCON 2021 Round of 16, where Tunisia knocked Nigeria out 1-0. The Super Eagles know the task ahead, so they have to be at their best when they take on Tunisia.
The dates of the Nigeria AFCON 2025 matches are:
December 23: Nigeria vs. Tanzania
December 27: Nigeria vs. Tunisia
December 30: Uganda vs. Nigeria
Reacting to the dates of the matches on CAF’s official page on X (@CAF_Online), an African football fan (@jadvhal) stated, “Nigeria 9 pts, Tanzania 4 pts, Uganda 4 pts, Tunisia 0 pt.” @TendoTFW commented, “Uganda – 9 points, no goals conceded, onto the next round. 🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬”
@eryan222806252 noted, “Some think it’s basic Nigeria and Tunisia, but watch out for this Cranes team….they will shock us all….they’re a different team.” @DuroBare said, “Maximum 9 points for Naija.” Finally, @AlibyToto commented, “Nigeria and Tunisia.”
