Anthony Joshua has been ruled out for eight weeks due to an injury, his promoter Eddie Hearn said while speaking to IFL TV.
“He’s not really ready to start camp. He needs another eight weeks or so on his injury. He had a little bit of a setback, and he won’t be punching for about that period of time. You’re looking at kind of the end of May for camp, so you’re looking at the back end of the summer to fight again—August or September,” .
Hearn did not provide too many details about the injury, only mentioning that the 35-year-old has an issue in the upper half of his body.
The 45-year-old Matchroom Chairman also confirmed that Joshua is eager to return to the ring and is targeting a fight against either Daniel Dubois or Tyson Fury.
“There are only really two fights that he’s locked in for, and that’s Dubois and Fury” .
