CAF World Cup Qualifiers: Nigeria Falters, Morocco and Algeria Extend Lead

The international break for the March window of the CAF World Cup Qualifiers came to a conclusion yesterday, producing some surprising results.

Nigeria was stunned by Zimbabwe, managing only a draw in a match where they desperately needed all three points. This result leaves them six points behind Group C leaders South Africa, who tightened their grip on the group with a 2-0 victory over Benin.

Meanwhile, Morocco secured a 2-0 win over Tanzania, extending their lead at the top of Group E by nine points. Cape Verde defeated Angola to move to the top of Group D, edging one point above Cameroon. Elsewhere, Algeria dominated Mozambique with a 5-1 victory, going three points clear in Group G.
