Concerns have been raised over a bridge located on Second Avenue in the Sitelite Town area of Amuwo Odofin, Lagos State, as reports emerge that the sand used for its foundation is falling off and washing away. This alarming development puts motorists at significant risk as the structural integrity of the bridge continues to deteriorate .
Captain Adebayo Dosunmu, a resident of Amuwo Odofin, has called on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to intervene urgently. “Mr. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, I am using this medium to call your attention to the erosion of the foundation of the bridge located at 2nd Avenue, Sitelite Town. The erosion is evident, and some people have started using it to store blocks. This erosion could lead to a catastrophic collapse,” he warned.
Captain Dosunmu called for an immediate inspection and repair of the bridge to prevent potential accidents and ensure public safety.
