The former governor of Rivers state Rotimi Amaechi in an interview emphatically stated that the ongoing war between the FCT Minister and immediate former governor of the state Wike Nyesom and the current governor Sim Fubara is about money sharing.
When the past governor was asked to give his opinion about what could have been the issue between the two he stated: “The fight between the former Governor, FCT Minister (Wike) and the current Governor (Fubara) is about sharing money.”
He reasoned that Nigerians are so comfortable with corruption in the country, if not there would have been protest on the streets, demanding for answers and reasons for the brouhaha and why the president have to impose military administration on the state.
In his words: “The fight between the former Governor, FCT Minister (Wike) and the current Governor (Fubara) is about sharing money, if not what is the quarrel?” Amaechi queried.
He continued: “Nigerians don’t dislike currption again because I have not seen anybody shouting on the street asking them what is the problem, can both of them speak to the public and tell us what the quarrel is about.
“And then we are now denied democracy, so Rivers state is the only state in the country that can’t practice democracy. They’ve imposed the military rule on us.”
He further spoke on the unlawful steps President Bola Tinubu took to sort the situation, saying that it threatens the democracy of the country: “Secondly is the fact that the president acted outside the constitution, section 188 state how a governor can leave office, either by theft, by resignation or by impeachment.
“It didn’t say that one day, you will wake up one day and one man called the president of nigeria will throw you out of office
“It makes democracy on stable, so that’s what is doing on in Rivers state.” The former governor concluded
