Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, the 2023 People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Lagos, met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at Presidential Villa, Abuja on Monday.
Prior to joining the PDP, Jandor was a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) but later decided to join PDP in the last general election in order to achieve his dream.
As at 4th March, 2025, Jandor announced his resignation from PDP, citing persistent anti-party activities, internal sabotage, and lack of discipline within the party.
At a recent media briefing in Lagos, he alleged that some party leaders saw his candidacy as a threat to their interest and worked against him, citing instances of attacks on his campaign and condemnation from party leaders. He accused the State Chairman of the party, Philip Aivoji, of allegedly issuing a false statement on all PDP platforms, claiming that he (Jandor) had withdrawn from the election.
According to reports, Jandor’s meeting with President Tinubu may be a “fence-mending” move, potentially signaling the start of political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections. The meeting took place between 2 pm and 4 pm, was not publicly announced.
