MOVIE TITLE: HIDDEN FIGURES

‘Hidden Figures’ told the story about three African-American women who plowed through ridiculous amount of obstacles by sheer skill, will, and tenacity to get the deserve recognitions for their works in a racist era.

It’s a biographical account of the mathematicians (computers) at NASA during the Space Race, featuring Katherine (Goble) Johnson, Mary Jackson and Dorothy Vaughan.

The film highlights the mathematical puzzle that needs to be solved to prevent an orbiting astronaut from burning up on reentry; the hidden figures in the calculation.

The movie revealed that the 1960s featured segregation and prejudice, thus naming the mathematicians as hidden figures whose offices are kept far away, thus the scene in which audience are shown how black people and white people were separated by toilets, yet they worked hard and achieved fantastic results.

Victories in solving the orbital equations, convincing a judge to lift segregation for the purpose of education, and getting a jump start on programming IBM mainframes, ultimately satisfying scenes, that shows the dedication of  the these three accomplished scientists.

The movie speaks of so many things NASA had to do to make space trip a reality. The government pressure laid on them, the urge to be the first in a two-man race, the racial discrimination, the real-life applications of Mathematics and Calculus, all summarized in this sequel.

The story is fascinating and brings so much insight into the space program beyond just these incredible women.

‘Hidden Figures’ is an educated and a much watch movie.
