Neymar Absent in Semi-Final Loss to Corinthians Due to Minor Pain

Neymar Jr. Did not play against Corinthians as he was not fit for the match. Santos struggled without their talisman, Neymar Jr., as they were knocked out in the semi-final of the Campeonato Paulista after a disappointing 2-1 loss.

Neymar returned to his boyhood club on January 31st after a disappointing spell at Saudi club Al Hilal. Since his return, he has played seven games, starting six, scoring three times, and assisting three times.

The Santos medical staff does not consider Neymar’s absence a serious concern, stating that it is just minor pain.

Neymar addressed his absence on his official Instagram handle after the semi-final loss:

“Unfortunately, I felt some pain in recent weeks… I really wanted to help the team. We did some tests in the morning, but I felt pain again.”

The 33-year-old has been called up to the Brazilian national team for the first time in eighteen months.
