Omokri Claims Peter Obi As His Political Project, Vows To Destroy The Obedients’ Movement, Alleges That It Threaten His Family

In an interview on News Central on Thursday morning, Reno Omokri, the former aide to the former President of Nigeria Goodluck Jonathan disclosed that Peter Obi, a Presidential aspirant and former governor of Anambra State was his political project.

Omokri who refused to disclose the individual’s name, mentioned that a particular former president had appealed to him and Senator Ben Bruce to promote the former governor’s presidential aspiration, thinking that he was a good candidate.

The former aide to Jonathan during the interview revealed that he was responsible for merging Obi to run as Atiku Abubakar’s Vice President in 2019 and would destroy the Obedients Movement with whatever political means he have in his capacity.

“Peter Obi was a project of mine and two people actually, Senator Ben Murray Bruce and I, a former president had asked us to promote him because he felt that he was a good candidate, so I did my best, I spent my money to project, to promote him

“I was responsible for Peter Obi to becoming the running mate to Abdulwaziri Abubakar in 2019, I said it publicly, I’ve got the document, I am a meticulous record keeper. Waziri Abubakar cannot deny, peter Obi cannot deny.”

When asked on his anger towards the Obedient Movement’ (staunch supporters of Peter Obi’s political aspiration), the political activist explained that he wasn’t bother by the former governor leaving but he draw the line when there are threats to his family, most of which he informed Obi about and he refused to do anything to diffuse the volatile situation

He continued: “What happened was that he left the Peoples Democratic Party without informing any of us who helped him. That is okay, he should have done that but he left the party just suddenly and then obviously, we couldn’t go with him because he didn’t tell us he was leaving and even if he told us, we wouldn’t have gone with him.

“So we had our party and we had our candidate and we are trying to build our party and what happen is that Peter Obi’s movement, the Obedient, they started attacking me, threatening me, insulting me, now that was okay but then they moved from myself to my family, I just had a daughter at that time, there were multiple death threats.

“They came to my house in the United Kingdom, they trail my wife and I when we went jogging, they found out my jogging route and they pursue me and then threaten me, and then one day I just got and contacted PO and told him this was what was happening, and I named a specific individual who is on life, I knew the person masquerade as the mystery girl on X. And I told him I know who the person is and you’ve got to talk to that person.” Omokri explained

Omokri who refused to reveal the identity of the ‘specific person’ threatening him, insisted that he Obi only told him he will issue a general statement in respect of the issue and not talk to the person directly.

He emphasized that he was going to destroy the movement because of their volatility and thuggish behavior, aside the fact that they call him all sort of names on the social media, and he vowed to do it with whatever political means he have in his care.

“On the phone, Peter Obi put me on speaker phone, talk to somebody on the background and later came back to me and said he cannot convince that specific person but he will issue a general statement, that means PO knew who that person was, anyway the attacks continued and I will contact Peter Obi, I have got records of this, Peter Obi will not do anything.”

“So I took a decision one day that if Peter Obi is like this, if he is not going to control this violent movement, this thuggish movement, this mob, this headless mob, then I am going to do my possible best with whatever considerable political machinery that I have to destroy that movement.” Omokri vowed

When pressured further to reveal the his assailant’s identity, he refused explaining that: “I discussed with Peter Obi, I don’t think its write for me to come here and do that, I am not afraid of confrontation but when I want to do it, I will do it with you face to face and make sure I give you an opportunity to right the wrong, then the relationship is safe, if u can’t, it goes awry.”
