Oshodi Pedestrian Bridge Now Free as Lagos State Government Arrests Hoodlums Extorting Pedestrians

The Lagos State Government on Tuesday announced the arrest of hoodlums who were extorting money from pedestrians on the Oshodi pedestrian bridge, ensuring that the vital passageway is now free and safe for commuters.

Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Commissioner for Transportation, confirmed the arrests via his X (formerly Twitter) handle. The targeted bridge, strategically located between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 of the Oshodi Bus Terminal, had previously been closed in January over concerns regarding its structural integrity and overall safety.

Authorities have vowed to maintain stringent measures to protect public infrastructure and ensure that such criminal activities are swiftly addressed. The recent crackdown underscores the government’s commitment to safeguarding commuters and upholding law and order in Lagos.
