The governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun praised the tenacious effort of President Tinubu Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday during a prayer session held in the state.
Abiodun had hosted League of Imams and Alfas for a special Iftar, in honor of the Ramadan period which he stated is for “emphasizing devotion, self-discipline, and virtues such as patience and charity. It reminds us of self-restraint and compassion for the less privileged.”
The governor while he appreciated the clerics for their devotion to him in the state, spoke on the reduction of food prices across the nation especially as the Muslim faithful observe the fast, he praised the president for his relentless effort.
He had spoken in Yoruba language and mixing it with English, stressed that: “This is the first time in the history of this country that food prices will go down as Ramadan approaches.
“The prices of food items are actually on a downward trend, even the marketers confirmed that the prices are reducing and its surplus in the market.” He added
Speaking on the echange rate, the Ogun governor claimed it “has been stable over the last 15 to 16 month and predictable. Inflation that we are scared we be uncontrollable is also coming down.”
And he further acknowledged the downward price in Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), in his words: “Every week the price of petrol is also coming down Mr. President, Congratulations.”
On religion, governor Abiodun said both the Christian and Muslim worshippers do things in one accord, leaving no room for crises or irreparable dispute while they allow his tenure to administer in peace.
“We’ve enjoyed religion tolerance in Ogun state, we have not had any form of crisis that has to do with religion intolerance, Christian and Muslims worship at peace, we are all in accord.
“How you advice our children in the mosque enables them to exhibit the right character and trait, which allow our governance to be easy, because without peace our administration won’t be functional.” He explained
