Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, has announced the installation of speed limit devices on Alapere and Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way in Ikeja.
In a statement issued by the Deputy Director of Public Affairs in the ministry, Bolanle Oguntola, Osiyemi clarified that the devices were set up to monitor speeding and improve road safety. He urged the public to disregard false reports suggesting that the government had installed such devices on numerous roads across the state.
The commissioner reaffirmed the legality of the speed limit regulations, citing Section 28(2)(a) of the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law (2018) as the legal backing for imposing fines and penalties on motorists who exceed prescribed speed limits. He emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring safer roads and urged compliance from all road users.
The Lagos State government reiterated its stance on keeping the public informed about any future developments related to road safety and transportation regulations.
