Ancelotti to Become Brazil’s Head Coach as He Departs Real Madrid at the End of the Season

Carlo Ancelotti is set to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season to take over as the head coach of the Brazil national team.

This marks the second time the Italian tactician will part ways with Los Blancos, having led the club to a highly successful tenure in his second stint that included two UEFA Champions League titles, two La Liga crowns, a Copa del Rey, and two Spanish Super Cups.

In total, Ancelotti secured 15 trophies across both spells with the Spanish giants.

According to reports, he will officially assume his new role with Brazil on May 26, a day after Madrid’s final La Liga fixture of the season against Real Sociedad. He is expected to sign a one-year contract that runs through to the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

ESPN Brasil reports that Ancelotti will earn a weekly salary of around €177,500 and could receive a £5 million bonus if he guides Brazil to World Cup glory.

Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) President Ednaldo Rodrigues expressed strong confidence in the appointment, stating:

“It’s a statement to the world that we are determined to regain the top spot on the podium. He is the greatest coach in history, and now he is in charge of the greatest national team on the planet. Together, we will write glorious new chapters for Brazilian soccer.”
