Utah Judge sentenced Shane Jesse Peterson, 47,  to life in prison for the death of his son Gavin, who died on July 9, 2024

Gavin died after what officials called “unimaginable suffering” while in his father’s care

 Court documents revealed Gavin was fed only “a piece of bread with mustard” and one-third cup of water each day

 He was locked in an empty room under constant surveillance and was severely malnourished when found

The affidavit said Gavin’s body was “visibly emaciated” and his internal organs had “shut down completely.”
