Liverpool are reportedly close to securing the signing of Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen, with the Dutch full-back seen as a potential replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The 24-year-old has a release clause of £35 million. The Netherlands international is said to be interested in joining Liverpool and has already informed Leverkusen of his decision to leave the club.
Frimpong’s arrival would provide Liverpool with a like-for-like replacement for Trent, who is reportedly set to join Real Madrid. The former Celtic man is no stranger to success, having won the German treble with Bayer Leverkusen last season, scoring 14 goals and providing 10 assists across all competitions.
