Keir starmer signed over the Chagos Islands to Mauritius, a state backed by Beijing, while British taxpayers foot an eye-watering £52 billion bill.
In a statement the British Prime Minister claimed he acted in the interest of the people’s safety: “I’ve signed a deal to secure the joint UK-US base on Diego Garcia. This base is vital for the safety and security of the British people and today’s agreement is the only way to protect our country for many years to come. I will always act in our country’s national interest.”
However the conservative party leader Kemi Badenoch knocked down the P.M’s goodwill, stating that the act leave the people more exposed to danger than the P.M proclaimed

“Chagos has been ours since 1814. It hosts a vital military base. Surrendering it to Mauritius is an act of national self-harm.
“It leaves us more exposed to China, and ignores the will of the Chagossian people.
